Expresscard Wi-Fi card

This is not a thing I'm facing right now at all, but I (and others) might in the future so here it goes:

Internal Wi-Fi cards get blacklisted on new laptops, so no hope there.

USBv Wi-Fi cards....would be OK but I don't like losing a USB slot.

But I (and many users who have Expresscard...probably) wouldn't otherwise use the expresscard slot if I get a PC with one, so if I buy a laptop without a libre-software-supporting Wi-fi card but with an expresscard slot, can I find a libre Wi-Fi expresscard and use that instead? If so, why isn't this solution being promoted as much by the FSF as it could be (or maybe it is and I've just failed to notice?)?

I think that yes (but I am not sure), if you have an express card (54 or 34) slot or PCMCIA (almost obsolete) built-in your computer. I think that express wifi card are not blacklisted.

I will test PCMCIA card adapter + express 34 card, for 2 usb 3.0 ports. So, I never tested these card.

PCMCIA = pc card bus

But be sure what slot do you have:
