Hello!

Could someone please write about what would he advise a Trisquel user who wants to use Sugar TOAST on a "Try Trisquel without installing" based Flidas?

Where could this user learn about the best way of teaming up these 2 systems?

Thank you for your time.

Hello!

I'm failing in my attempt to use Sugar TOAST by means of the installation of the trisquel-sugar package with Synaptic.
Eleven ""404 Not Found [IP: 176.31.119.109 80]" messages have appeared with the message that I have copied after the eleven curved closing brackets that follow.

While awaiting for help from some Flidas/TOAST user on how to solve this unexpected problem I will download Sugar ISO's last version to see if it can help me to reach my goal without bothering with help requests.

Please excuse me for the inconveniences and thank you for your time.

This is what I get from my mate-terminal...

trisquel@trisquel:~$ sudo apt install trisquel-sugar
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
python-gst0.10 : Depends: python-libxml2 but it is not going to be installed
trisquel-sugar : Depends: sugar
Depends: plymouth-theme-sugar but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: sugar-honey but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
trisquel@trisquel:~$

But I don't know how to manage this output.

What would you do if you were in my place?

@ loldier

I think I have derailed and I need some context to get back on track.

I'm not sure if in your last posts you are suggesting that (for SUGAR TOAST installment) I should use the CLI terminal as a complement (of Synaptic) or as a replacement of Synaptic.

It would be of great help if you could clarify this doubt for me.

Thanks in advance.

It shouldn't matter which way you do what you're trying to do. Synaptic is a frontend GUI for apt.

That said, I'm not at all sure what your incentive is. I understood, maybe mistakenly, that you for some reason unknown need to run Trisquel off a live CD/DVD.

A live session if properly burned should not give errors about dependencies. My listing demonstrates that it's possible to add packages to a live RAM disk. Sudo works and it doesn't even require a password.

The reason terminal commands are used to help people out is because it's simple to print, type and follow. Just copy-paste the commands and you're good. With a GUI, it's much more difficult to go every step of the way.

##EDIT##

You should check your media against corruption (hash, checksum, SHA) or use another USB.

@loldier:

Dear Sir
I'm not sure if I understood correctly your last post, but I have kept its words in mind ever since I read it.
Though I haven't succeeded in launching Sugar Toast yet, I feel your help has put me back on the tracks.
Your words have drifted my thoughts and readings towards the subjects you have mentioned in that post and they have encouraged me to check the integrity of the files in the DVD I was using at the time of my failures.
Thank you very much!.

Because the eight alphanumeric strings (with thirty two elements each) of the files I have been using matched with the ones of the md5sum.txt file that was attached to them, and in turn, they all came from a md5sum checked ISO file I had downloaded, I'm leaving aside the possibility that my problems were due to a failure of that sort and I'm focusing on a failure caused by the way I have used the Synaptic Packet Manager.

I'm almost a technological illiterate who had never used it before.

If this fails I will try to reach my goal using the apt command family which seems scarier and with which I'm less familiar still.

Please excuse me for the delayed response.
