Looking for FLOSS (worst case scenario, FOSS) alternative to HootSuite (or similar).

Anyone? :-]

Note that all FLOSS is also FOSS.
FOSS means Free/Open-Source Software.
FLOSS means Free (Libre)/Open-Source Software.
Libre software is the same thing as Free Software, so you don't need to say "libre".

I was under the impression that all FLOSS is open source & libre, but FOSS is not libre. Was I then wrong?

The difference essentially is philosophical: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html

That said, a few unpopular licenses that the FSF considers free are not "open source" according to the OSI and a few unpopular licenses that the OSI considers "open source" are not free according to the FSF.

All those alternatives look proprietary.

I used AlternativeTo.net's filter for only Free Software alternatives.

Looks like these may be open source, but I wasn't able to find documentation licensing them under a libre license such as GPL.

I'd recommend checking out:

http://libreprojects.net/

They've compiled a list of some pretty good freedom respecting tools that might be similar to what you're looking for.

Thanks for all the replies, guys.
I should be more specific. I don't enjoy doing things in somebody's cloud, so I'm looking for a Linux/desktop app similar to Hootsuite -- social media management / dashboard.
Trisquel repo only has one app (called 'Friends', I think) but the app forces user to use Ubuntu One. Again, I don't like it.

Any alternatives? Or perhaps something to install on my own server?
