When I got to know about this notebook, I asked raptorcs.com what
they had to say on the matter? I knew I was asking a
competitor. Raptor answered, that they found the free software
powerpc cpus available unfit for use in a notebook.
Still powerpc-notebook is moving on. Back then it was my
understanding, that powerpc-notebook wanted to utilize
an ibm powerpc cpu. To my knowledge only free software power
cpus would be power7 to power10 cpus. Now it seems
powerpc-notebook has switched to the freescale QorIQ T2080 Processor.
Do you know this cpu and can say how suitable it is?
They made a video so you can see the CPU in action with a Debian installation:

Looks like it handles pretty well in the video. The video has some glxgears results, and there are more test results in the video description, comparing them to other laptops. Looks like the laptop would be good for some web browsing, LO documents, light video game play.
Hopefully it should give a decent battery life, as I wouldn't think an NXP chip would need an awful lot of power.
I am also building Linux-libre to run on these machines (ppc64 (big endian.))

Is the freescale QorIQ T2080 Processor an arm
or powerpc cpu?

"The T2080 and T2081 processors are based on the 64-bit e6500 core, built on Power Architecture® technology, and run up to 1.8 GHz. "[1]
There are also ARM versions of the QorIQ from what I am reading, but it appears that the T2080 is Power.
