Just wondering: what's available, and how do they compare? I'm thinking of running the server application on Trisquel Mini, and the client software on standard Trisquel.

I've read here that netinstall is best for servers -- I'd like to try Mini, at least to start, because it has a GUI and so might be easier.

I've had good success with gFTP. Much lighter and more responsive than filezilla.

One can actually connect to a (S)FTP server from Trisquel's default file manager, Nautilus:

  1. Click the upper-right button;
  2. Click on "Connect to server..." (the 'nautilus-connect-server' command is called);
  3. Type the address (something like ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/);
  4. Click on the "Connect" button.

See https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/nautilus-connect.html.en for a more complete documentation.
