GForce 9600 GT cooler is to loud

Welcome!
I am a new Trisquel user and I would like to make it my main operating system. But unfortunately my GForce is unbearably loud. I couldn't find any solution in the web.
Do I have to wait for newer Nouveau driver?

There is one workaround for this. Buy yourself a Zalman GPU cooler and use the external speed regulator. I did it for a similar problem with my ATI card (the cooler was almost not running at all, overheating the card).
This is only the last resort though, there should be something you can do about the driver, but I never used Nvidia cards since the TNT2, sorry. Someone here should know what to do, if not there is always the workaround I mentioned.
