when boot in trisquel 12 ALPHA , nouveau not set monitor to native 1600x900
this use LOW resolution screen, when boot in live trisquel 12, and installed too.
use like 800x666 (or little high)
i think, nouveau BAD work in 12 trisquel ALPHA

nouveau should support your graphics card unless it's very old, it could be the case that you have to downgrade your libre-kernel, which contains the nouveau driver.(or perhaps figure out how to install an older version)
the easiest fix for you would be to use the trisquel 11 version which is very stable, and has tons of support being that it is based on jammy. most instructions for dealing with software on the internet in relation to jammy will work on trisquel 11. I think it comes with the 5.15 libre-kernel by default which should work perfectly for you...
You should describe for us, how you installed trisquel, and what desktop environment you are using, and if there are any special considerations, like how you installed it, and what model your nvidia card is

I see in your post now you already tried trisquel 11
you could just downgrade your kernel to the one in 5.15 in a short time and get it working, you could even upgrade trisquel 11 -> trisquel 12, and keep your old working kernel with you for an easy fix.

Instead of downgrading, I would follow the instructions on https://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/selibre/linux-libre/freesh to try a newer kernel. If it solves your problem, please tell us: it will be a valuable piece to improve Trisquel 12 before its official release.

You're correct. You need libgl1-mesa-dri and libglx-mesa0, but if you have Nouveau already installed these should be present as they are dependencies, if they were missing then this is likely a bug and should be reported to Trisquel. If they're present then this might be a regression somewhere between the kernel, the Nouveau driver, the graphic libraries or the display server (X11 or Wayland) and it's impossible to narrow it down until you manage to find out what exactly is causing the problem, checking the kernel logs with dmesg -T --level=err,warn is a good start.
To discard the display server see if you're on Wayland, and if you are switch to Xorg/X11, if you're on Xorg/X11 switch to Wayland.
