Hello Everyone,

I found this a few days ago and wanted to share with everyone that didn't knew about this feature. The reason why I am posting this here and not on the Wiki is that it may become official in the next version (17) without the need to be activated so it may become obsolete very quickly.

So as many of you may not know. Firefox-based Browsers (like Abrowser, IceWeasel etc...) have an Integrated PDF reader (like Google Chrome) since the version 14 (if my memory is correct). But it is disabled by default. To enable it you only have to do this 2 steps :

1 - Enter in the URL Bar this : "about:config" and press ENTER, a message will appear asking you if you really want to enter that mode. Press ENTER again, after this search for the word "pdf" in the top search bar and double click on this two contents until (so they get bold which means that they have been changed) :

- dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.nppdf.so (Set to true)
- pdfjs.disabled (Set to false)

2 - Enter the Settings of your browser. Then the "Applications" tab, and search for PDF, in the right section just select "Preview in [Browser_Name]" instead of "Let me choose".

And then you can try it with a link like this one :
http://www.winningprizewheel.com/export.pdf

If everything is working then the document will open directly on the web browser instead of asking you if you want to save or open the file with you current pdf reader.

I hope this is helpful for anybody.

(PS: Why can't we use the WikiMedia tags on the first post ?)

hm, I had to install pdf.js myself.
I am using trisquel 5.5 in this case.
You can download it here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pdfjs/

I didn't see a license, but source is available on github, so I didn't worry too much.
Would it be possible to add this to the Trisquel Abrowser extensions repository? It is a cool addon! I have been using it since it was beta sotware, but I didnt keep it up to date for a few re-installs. It is good to see that it is out of beta now Thanks for the post aliasbody!

Native PDF support is in Firefox 15 and above. Abrowser is still at 14 and the most recent Firefox is 16.0.2. Since Abrowser is 2 versions behind, most of you will have to use the seperate PDF.js extension.
