According to the link you get the option of not installing non free
firmware on devuan 5. After installing devuan 5, no non free software
repositories are on the sources.list. Right?
Which non free software is on a devuan 5 system after
it has been installed?
Thank you.
I don't know, but why not just use GNUinOS, which is the libre version of Devuan?

When GNUinOS offers more download options for Daedalus, such as a netinstall option, it will be easier to offer. Chimaera always seems to give me issues either on install or soon after in my experience.
Since the GNUinOS dev is a member here, you could start a new thread saying, "Hi @aitor, could you please make a netinstall version of GNUinOS available"? or something like that. Or use aitor's Trisquel contact form:

So you really got that Thread Police Officer job. Should we send you our posts for prior approval, or can we simply let you write them for us?
I was trying to help a fellow systemd hater. We must stick together against the cruel tyranny of bloated init managers.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
This is an interesting suggestion.
Gnuinos discussions are happening in a dedicated thread on the officially official Devuan forum: https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=712.

My only issue with that is that to register for the Devuan forums you have to answer some question about a slogan. No idea what they mean by the question. Long term it would probably be best if GNUinos had it's own forums or some other way to discuss matters. It may be based off Deuvan but for instance I don't have to got ot he Ubuntu forums to discuss Trisquel. I know it means additional resources spent but i'd be happy to donate to GNUinos if they had a way to.
Sir, this is very informative and fortunate, I was unaware such distribution existed. Thank you.

By default it's absolutely nonfree, as much as Debian.
Debian install ISOs include nonfree firmware since version 12 and will load it by default if your hardware requires so unless you tell it not to before boot.
Devuan started to include nonfree firmware out of the box even before Debian did.

Debian started including nonfree software options since 1996.
