I can't use Youtube Alternatives (frontend)

Hello everyone.
Please tell me which youtube frontend do you use?
I see only 3 invidious.io servers https://api.invidious.io/, and when using https://tube.cadence.moe I get an error (screenshots below)

If I use Piped I can't say video.
I would appreciate your advice.
Maybe use yt-dlp, I don't know..
I watch videos on https://inv.nadeko.net (usually brought there from my RSS client).
Thank you, yes I know that one option works (the one you indicated) but usually I saw about 10-20 servers, now it’s 3-5.
Since June, YouTube has been intensely trying to block Invidious: https://torrentfreak.com/youtube-orders-invidious-privacy-software-to-shut-down-in-7-days-230609/
The nadeko.net instance has a workaround to avoid blocking: https://git.nadeko.net/Fijxu/invidious/wiki/Generate-a-po_token-and-visitor_data-for-inv.nadeko.net
That workaround requires running nonfree JavaScript, right?
To play the video on YouTube that gives you the visitor_data and a po_token, yes. Then, no. You copy them to https://inv.nadeko.net/preferences (which should not be opened in private mode, in my experience), save the preferences and GNU LibreJS does not complain when videos are then played on https://inv.nadeko.net

It does not work all the time.
If I'm not mistaken, YouTube has blocked almost all ethical services through which it was possible to watch, here is the information https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/issues/4734#issuecomment-2365205990
And those that remain work very unstably, it is impossible to download videos, etc.
You can choose one Invidious instance to see the video title and the thumbnail without YouTube JavaScript.
For example:
https://inv.nadeko.net/search?q=moria's+race
http://inv.nadekonw7plitnjuawu6ytjsl7jlglk2t6pyq6eftptmiv3dvqndwvyd.onion/search?q=moria's+race
http://zzlsbhhfvwg3oh36tcvx4r7n6jrw7zibvyvfxqlodcwn3mfrvzuq.b32.i2p/search?q=moria's+race
Copy the YouTube video URL and paste in the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) with mpv:
For example:
mpv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b83W_azDOK8
Hi. Yes, it works, I just need to clarify for other users that it is for bash and not for fish and other shells.
$ bash
$ mpv https://invidious.jing.rocks/watch?v=s7L7ZNYNTdw
I've been using NewPipe on Android (installed using F-Droid of course). This has worked pretty consistently for quite a while.
All platforms are moving to a "only-logged-in-users" scheme, unless they can make a profit with streaming content without ads to non-identifiable consumers.
I don't see a future for YouTube without non-free software in the long run. IIRC, I saw some plans so NewPipe will/do allow to sign in to the YouTube account to avoid blocking.
Anyway let's enjoy it while possible.
Cheers!
Indeed. We should probably use text resources whenever possible instead of videos, and visit peertube or self-hosted mediagoblin instances otherwise.
A good example of this is https://media.libreplanet.org/u/libreplanet.
Relying on a single huge central platform was never a good idea anyway.
To download videos, Parabolic, which is in Flathub, works very well too: https://nickvision.org/parabolic.html
For that program, its author won the 2023 Award for Outstanding New Free Software Contributor: https://www.fsf.org/news/free-software-awards-winners-announced-bruno-haible-french-free-software-unit-nick-logozzo
"A basic yt-dlp frontend" - https://github.com/NickvisionApps/Parabolic/blob/main/README.md.
Note that yt-dlp is also going to hit the 'Sign in to confirm you’re not a bot' wall wherever there is one.
EDIT: as a matter of fact, it already has: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/pull/11001.
Hello everyone.
Perhaps these programs will be useful from yotube censorship ("Log in to confirm that you are not a bot")
