I had the same problem. I read that some new phones can't connect but this problem was fixed in Ubuntu so it should work fine to connect your phone to your computer in Trisquel 7. I haven't tried since I'm waiting for the final release so I'm not sure it works.

I'm still using 6.0.1, with the recent updates (I always update my system as much as I can, usually after boot). I can't seem to install 7, it's lagging in installation. I just did think of something though, how about I access my phone from a live Mint 16 dvd. :) I'll be doing that until Trisquel already have support for my phone.

If that doesn't work maybe Mint 17 will work since it's based on Ubuntu 14.04. Good luck! :)
