I'm looking for some free Japanese calligraphic fonts, specifically kaisho, kyoukashou, and gyousho fonts. I'm not aware of any such free fonts (though there are proprietary ones available), and if there are free ones, I'm almost positive they're not in the Trisquel repositories.

Epson has a nice collection of Japanese fonts available at http://www.i-love-epson.co.jp/download2/printer/driver/win/page/ttf30.htm. They are gratis, but unfortunately not free. The copyright notice is in Japanese, but states that any reproduction in other media is prohibited (他のメディアへの一切の転載を禁じます。).

So I was wondering if anyone knows of any such free fonts. Or, alternatively, if there aren't any, what would it take to get them made?

Hello: I am completely clueless about Trisquel OS and its repositories.I am currently using ttf-kochi-mincho for a different Linux OS distro, possibly you can follow these instructions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Installing_Japanese_character_sets#Specific_operating_systems

Thanks, but that's not the problem. I have Japanese fonts installed already; I can read webpages in Japanese and type documents in Japanese. What I'm looking for is a set of decorative fonts in styles like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaisho and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyosho. As far as I know, there aren't any fonts like that under a free license, but I'd like to be proven wrong there.

Also, we call the OS GNU/Linux 'round these parts.
