When I minimize a window, the window is blank and all you can see is a small black border and I remember seeing this effect once before and I was able to get rid of it, but can't remember...

Anyone know how I can get rid of this effect, so you just see the whole window minimize?

Here's a screen shot of Gimp's main window I'm minimizing, you can see it's just a black border that is empty;

When a window is minimized to the panel and you click to maximize it, you see the whole window pop up back into view, this is what I want to see when I minimize, see the whole window minimize not just this black border...

How can I fix this?

THANKS

This is the standard appearance for a minimized window. I think it's the same in Ubuntu if you turn off Compiz effects. Only with Compiz enabled will you get the effect you are looking for, and sadly, in your (and my) case it isn't possible.

Well somethings wrong here, because when I was running Slackware with just OpenBox, OpenBox would cause the same thing and all I was using was the Radeon KMS in the kernel and in the obconf I was able to turn this off.

Forgot what it was, but I was able to get rid of it in OpenBox, so I would expect the same in Gnome too...
