Hopefully they will fix that god awful interface straight out of 1997.
With this new iconset, i like the interface.
It looks nice and i can do whatever i want to do with it.
Libreoffice is one of my favourite pieces of free software and i like it much more as openoffice back then.
I use libre office overall in all my computers.
When we do a lot of Clerical work, never had an issue with them. In my opinion they set the standard higher than the stupid MS Office. I donate one dollar last year towards their project with some doubt, but after using their product it has been no looking back.

To get a modern icon set, you can try `sudo apt install libreoffice-style-sifr` on Trisquel 7.

Out I've been using LO for some time now but Abiword caught my attention when I tried LXDE. Is there a big difference between Abiword and LO Writer?
They're not related in any way, shape, or form "under the hood".
And LO Writer seems to be more stable and supports ODF and .doc files better, though Abiword isn't the world's most horrendous at that.
I think LO's problem is its toolkit, more so than how the UI based on it is made and arranged.
