Just another example of proprietary maliciousness.
Apparently Nvidia restricts the maximum number of simultaneous NVENC video encoding sessions imposed to consumer-grade GPUs.

Do you mean driver or firmware when you referred to "driver"?

I think this is about the NVIDIA drivers. The firmware blob is signed, so it can't be modified I think.
