I seem to have mixed feelings about Libpurple plugins, (Discord, Skype, Facebook) I like having access to my "boomer" contacts, (I tell people Discord is for boomers) but I realize anything I say on there could be spied on and archived, but then again, there's a lot of IRC chat rooms with saved logs and I do like how I can consolidate all of the non-free chat applications into libre plugins for pidgin, I can save on resources.

But I see one major benefit for this if I can get "boomers" to use Pidgin with libpurple plugins, XMPP doesn't sound too far of a stretch.

I remember when I first got a hang for Linux Mint, somebody asked me "how do you install yahoo and aim?". (this was like a decade ago) I showed them pidgin and their eyes brightened. So I'm thinking this would be feasible. But pidgin really shows the clutter that discord has.

But what do you think of those libpurple plugins? I especially want to hear from you if you have bad things to say.
