UnPlug is a Firefox-compatible extension that allows users to download video from sites such as YouTube, MetaCafe, and Vimeo. A button is placed on the right of the built-in search box in the browser, and when clicked, it searches the current page for media. Several options are presented, and the user can easily download a viewable video to his/her computer.

I use NoScript, and do not allow javascript, cookies, or media objects from YouTube.com. The benefit of UnPlug is that it does not require javascript to be enabled, nor does it require objects (like flash video) to even be considered. It finds the video files for download without flash whatsoever.

UnPlug is released under either the GPLv2 or the Affero GPL v3 license; from within the extension's configuration menus, it links to the GPLv2, but on the official website, it states the Affero GPL v3.

This qualifies as free software, and I recommend adding it to the fully free browser extension page. Thank you!

Thank you so much, SirGrant; I was wondering if something like that were available. I added it, with a nice Trisquel 4 screenshot:
