Proprietary Software Mega-Company (PSMC) has stunned the proprietary software industry by acquiring a Smaller Proprietary Software Company (SPSC).

Proprietary Software Mega-Company hopes to incorporate the Smaller Proprietary Software Company's proprietary software with it's own proprietary software offerings.

Proprietary Software enthusiasts are mixed between joy at the takeover, excited for the new proprietary offerings for the proprietary software under new proprietary ownership, and despair of a possible monopoly situation in the proprietary software industry.

Rival Proprietary Software Company (RPSC) stated that they hope the Smaller Proprietary Software Company's software will still be available for their own proprietary software, and that Proprietary Software Mega-Company will not limit the proprietary software to only their own proprietary software.

In other news enthusiasts have ported a recreation of a Vintage Proprietary Software to a Vintage Proprietary System.

Six months later, and without ever making a new release of SPSC software, PSMC kills the SPSC software project and lays off all the former staff from SPSC, saying "it just wasn't a good cultural fit".

Coincidentally, at the same time, PSMC launches their own new software which just so happens to do many of the same tasks as the former SPSC software.
