I've been testing out Elementary OS lately and it is a fast and gorgeous Ubuntu based distribution. Like Trisquel 6, it is based off of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and will be supported for many years. With that in mind, has anyone tried to recreate Elementary OS in Trisquel 6 by adding the programs, icons, and themes?

When looking at the sources, I see these two PPAs:
https://launchpad.net/~elementary-os/+archive/stable
https://launchpad.net/~elementary-os/+archive/os-patches

The second one has a warning that it may affect your existing operating system as these are workarounds for Elementary OS.

If one were to add the first PPA (and maybe the second) and run an "apt-get install elementary-desktop" command in Trisquel 6, would it work? Better yet, has anyone tried it? :-P

I didn't try to install the Pantheon on Trisquel but I know how to make your system launch the applications as fast as Elementary OS does.

The program is called Preload and I've found a tutorial in how to install it on Debian based systems:

According to this post [1], there is an unmet dependency, elementary-desktop depends on nvidia-common but it is not installable.
