sudo apt-get autoremove --purge would be a good help.

On a more serious note I've tried distros that come with BleachBit. I think there's another well-known system cleaner, I can't remember the name, though.

You can install "computer-janitor" to do a bit more than 'apt-get autoremove'. There is a graphical interface: "computer-janitor-gtk".

Yes. If it does not want to remove useful stuff (in my case it wants to remove the software I installed through a .deb to declare my taxes). Otherwise, uncheck what is to be kept.

Try Bleachbit. It's in the repositories. The only issue is it can't clean Abrowser.

A workaround is described here. Move ~/.mozilla/abrowser to ~/.mozilla/firefox, open bleachbit, use the Firefox cleaner, and move the directory back.

For proactive security I recommend using the NoScript extension for abrowser.
