I installed Trisquel 8 today on my Thinkpad T500. Very good it is too.
The install went flawless. The updates went smooth after I changed to the main repo.
I have removed some software like VLC and replaced with mpv. No issues.
I tried some songs and videos files out all worked.
Writing this out in vim running in guake. The overall stability seems to be great,
although I have only been running for a few hours.

I have been able to do everything I need to do. So this will become my daily driver.
I will try to report bugs as and when I come across any.

Well done to the devs you have done a fantastic job and if this is an indicator of
things to come the final release will be great.

I've been using Trisquel 8 for about 6 months now and it's basically been flawless for me. I'd say all it needs is the updater from Trisquel 7 and you could call it Trisquel 8. By the way, I was unaware there is an issue with VLC. Whats wrong with it?

Congrats on the upgrade!

Nothing wrong with VLC its just that I prefer mpv.

Nothing's wrong with VLC, it's just that hipsters and ricers like to use
MPV because it's considered cool.

after looking at MPV briefly, I think its because it looks like a modern video player with a better user experience. no need to be a hipster/ricer, imo.

if you want to talk about hipster software oftions, i would look into installing Haiku OS (https://www.haiku-os.org/about/)

Cheers!
