There is a fairly popular online music streaming site called Soundcloud (soundcloud.com) that I have wanted to use in Trisquel but so far cannot. It seems to use flash for the playback interface and I have been able to download the songs that have that option available, however there are some songs that are for online listen only and I would like to hear them without non-free software. Does anyone have this working? Is it already possible, or would Gnash have to be improved? When I click the big orange play button, nothing happens.

Thanks

This is an AWESOME and simple hack! I will do it by hand for a while, maybe
there is already a script for this...

And no, I didn't send them an email...

It seems simple to save to a file the songs which they try to restrict you
from saving. Just go to the page of such song, check the source of the
page (Ctrl+U in Abrowser) and search for the string “"streamUrl"”. Right
after this string is the URL from which you can download the song – just
copy-paste it into the address bar of you browser.

A simple Greasemonkey script can be written to automate this.
