Suspend on Toshiba Satellite A210-10W broken

As stated in the title, after running suspend, the laptop goes to 'sleep' but when I want to wake it up the disk starts spinning up but the screen is constantly black and doesn't respond to anything, after a 5-10 seconds the CPU fan starts spinning at max speed as well.
It doesn't even manage to get the network adapter running since I can't even ssh into it at that time, says host not found.
At that I have to force shutdown the laptop holding the shutdown key.

I have updated to the latest 3.7.5 libre kernel, and it's still doing the same thing.
Tried it out with a liveCD of Mint, and suspend works fine.

Oh yes, I've done some searching around and seems people have reported similar things with their Satellites, 2 fixes were apprently to add toshiba_acpi to /etc/modules and removing network-manager.

Unfortunately, neither worked.

Seen this? https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/troubleshooting-suspendhibernate

There seems to be some toshiba related packages in the repo too, dunno if those are related to this.
