I see that "Switch User" has been taken out of the start menu in Trisquel 7. This is something that I used regularly. Does anyone know why this was done? I tried switching users from the command line "dm-tool switch-to-greeter" and nothing seemed to break.

So is the "lock" button.

I found that if you change to gdm instead of lightdm the lock button in gnome shell comes back. Even with additional users on the system "switch users" never came back.

It doesn't seem like this is a mistake. According to the developer commits, Rubén took it out in August. I'd just like to know if it will mess anything up down the road to put it back.

Where can you see the developer commits? Also, does he say why he took it out?

The developer commits can be seen at https://devel.trisquel.info/trisquel/trisquel-packages/commits/master. I couldn't find any information there as to why he took it out.
