Why not just install GNU Icecat?
sudo apt install icecat
Its probably way behind the actual project of icecat's current release.
I don't use trisquel so I don't know, but it probably isn't the newest one in trisquel repos.
If I am wrong however, feel free to correct me with what version is out.
Edit:
And when it came out too.
GNU Guix has IceCat 140.10: https://packages.guix.gnu.org/packages/icecat/140.10.2-gnu1/
That is why I assume it is the latest version. It is the version in Trisquel 12's repository too.
Hmm...
is down, so I can't tell what the newest version is on there.
Annoying it is.
I can neither confirm nor deny then I guess.
Although I guess I could check parabola.nu
EDIT: Well that surprised me... its the opposite of what I expected.
Their version is WAY behind guix and trisquel.
looks like Trisquel is up to date, that's impressive given the past way they used to things... back in Trisquel 8 and prior another words.
Not every gnu linux system has icecat in its repository.
Very true
