Linux Trisquel spins the fan at a higher rate than Windows 7 for my Thinkpad. The fan has been replaced recently and new cooling paste applied. I would assume because Trisquel is a smaller OS than Win 7 it doesn't create so much heat. ( I have no idea if that's even remotely correct ).
I've tried 'thinkfan' again but it doesn't load properly, or it loads but won't work. It spins all the time at a high speed. Is there any way to control the fan speed ?
