i have a x200 thinkpad that i tried to connect to a tv with a VGA cable
when i connected it the message telling me it wasn’t connected disappeared but all i got was a blank screen
its running libreboot but i was told on #libreboot that this was nothing to do with libreboot and external monitors work for other people using libreboot
so its probably something to do with the os i am running(trisquel 7)
dose anyone else on this forum have a x200 running libreboot
or anyone who knows what my problem could be?
I have an x60 running libreboot.VGA port is working on Trisquel 7.
Did you bought it on the Gluglug website or did you flash it by your own?
You may give a try other distros and check if is Trisquel the problem.
i flashed the x200 myself(well someone did it for me at libreplanet but you know what i mean)
do you know of any distros other than trisquel that boot with libreboot?
i could only get trisquel and parabola(no idea how to use it)
to work
Dragora works with libreboot, I have a x60 running Dragora, never tried vga on TV, but it worked with a video projector.
Why only those two?
http://libreboot.org/docs/gnulinux/grub_boot_installer.html
i think its because libreboot's grub payload tries to parse
ISOLINUX boot-loaders(a bootloader lots of distros use the live usb/cd/dvd's) when booting from a usb or cd/dvd drive
and some times it may fail?...
you can almost certainly boot anything with a linux kernel
on libreboot but you have to it manualy
please correct me if i am wrong
What if you flash libreboot from a distro like Ututo, would it work? Or does libreboot require Trisquel/Parabola to work?
