Totem JPEG decoder error

I am a translator!
I created a video file by joining JPEG images using MEncoder which VLC and GNOME-MPlayer are willing to play but Totem refuses to play it. MediaInfo recognizes the video format as JPEG (Intergraph). Totem produces the following error:
An error occurred
The playback of this movie requires a JPEG decoder plugin which is not installed.
What needs to be done so that Totem can play the file?
