Hi all,
Trisquel on My laptop will only recognize one monitor at a time. If I plug in the monitior when the laptop is already on, it mirrors at the resoluton of the built in panel. If I restart the laptop with the monitor plugged in it mirrors at the resolution of the external monitor. Display settings does not recognize two monitors no matter what I do. When I had a Fedora based distro on the laptop it did dual monitors fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bestwacko

Yeah I have. The checkbox for mirroring is unchecked and faded out, it only shows one monitor, and the detect dispays button does nothing.

What kind of a video card?

Are you running the latest kernel and x? https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/installing-latest-backported-kernel-and-xserver

@lembas the video card is a Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (the laptop is Think Penguin Snares). Updating X did it! Thanks so much, it works perfectly now.
