Today I stumbled upon this commit,
https://devel.trisquel.info/trisquel/package-helpers/commit/597aa87a0ca4fb4f1ee72e63fd00c12a96fe03f6

and it seems that the codename of the new release (Trisquel 8) is 'Flidas'. At least you can announce it in a bolg or mailing list.

I'm asking for more transparency and openness in decision making and more community involvement.

Not everything deserves an announcement. If you make too many announcements, that can result in a tremendous loss of productivity.

I agree, but this deserves an announcement. Also, the last blog entry was from March 2015. So this too-many-announcements problem is definitely *not* what Trisquel is facing at the moment.

I disagree. Finding out what the codename of Trisquel 8 is going to be is not that significant. It's a one-liner. The thing that's noteworthy enough to be announced is when a version of Trisquel 8 is actually released, and that's when the codename can be mentioned as a side note.

I didn't see the point in announcing the start of the development stage, because at first, I only wanted to mirror the ubuntu Xenial repositories in order to deploy the build envionment needed for trisquel 8.

I found later than, in order for the purge scripts to work as expected, the new branch for flidas had to be created, so I created it to be able finish the task without thinking it much.

The lack of communication was my fault, and as a way of ammending the issue, I just sent a mail to trisquel-devel mailing list. Better late than never :(

About the front page, it is usually managed by Ruben, and... I don't want to step over anyone toes.
