I have setup a home server with Ubuntu 10.04. I am using 4 hard disks each 500GB and using RAID1 for /boot and RAID5 for /. I am considering moving to Trisquel 3.5 or 4.0 beta. I also intend to use KVM. Can anybody confirm whether I can use RAID1, RAID5 and KVM in Trisquel?

I use RAID1 for / (without separate /boot filesystem) with Trisquel 4.0
beta, it works after necessary initrd and grub configuration.

I haven't used KVM with it (only 3.5 as guest), but the kernel modules
needed are available and there is a qemu-kvm package.

I managed to configure Awen using RAID1 with metadata 1.0 for /boot and RAID5 with metadata 1.2 for / with kvm. There was a problem with the boot partition as GRUB2 1.97 is unable to read a /boot partition on RAID 1 using metadata 1.0. So I chose not to install GRUB2 during installation and later installed GRUB 1.98+20100804 manually. With kvm, I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2. Everything is working just fine.
