Always nice to get some visibility!

They really like Ubuntu there, apparently. They don't have enough good things to say about it (it looks nice, it looks really nice, did we mention it looks nice, etc). Trisquel is mentioned at the very bottom of the page, as usual with the constant "worse hardware support" reminder. They even have a section in their faq which defends the inclusion of proprietary components as needed "to improve hardware capability" http://www.getgnulinux.org/en/linux/linux_faq/#full_freedom
They recommend Trisquel if you're "committed to freedom in your computing", but they don't really explain why you should be "committed to freedom" so it comes off as looking like a crippled, plainer-looking version of Ubuntu.
I don't think advertising for this website is a good idea. It's not even doing anything particularly helpful.
It seems to be easier for beginners to understand than gnu.org.
That's not a proper comparison, though. gnu.org/distros only lists completely free/libre GNU/Linux systems. This site is just another of those many "choose your Linux (sic) distro for beginners" things. It doesn't even list a lot of choices or do a good job explaining what's preferable about each of them.
It would be useful to have such a page that only talked about completely free/libre systems, but this isn't one of those.
This (http://www.getgnulinux.org/en/windows/) part of the website seems good. It talks about freedom.
I suppose getting a mention as "beginner-friendly", for Trisquel, is a good thing, I wish the word "inferior" weren't used to describe the hardware support. We know Trisquel isn't "crippled", but the intended reader of this article may believe so.
I agree that this website is not particularly helpful, but it is nice to get some visibility. Hopefully new users to GNU/Linux will see Trisquel at the bottom and give it a try!
