Trisquel release numbering

I was wondering about the Trisquel release numbers.
Since the next release will base things off 12.04, why not keep a
numbering system similar to that source?
Switch from Trisquel 6.0 to "Trisquel 12.04", "Trisquel 12.10" and so on?
Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin
I suppose 'Trisquel 12.09' would be more appropriate than 'Trisquel 6.0', but personally I prefer code names.
Codenames are great. I enjoy them. Especially when they're doubled-up
like "Pointy Panda" or "Zealous Zebra" ... but when you're looking back
through a bunch of install DVDs, I'd prefer numbers. Numbers are easier
and make more sense in the long-term (IMO).

I would rather see numbers as well. Words are fairly meaningless when it comes to versions. The date/version approach Ubuntu uses is very easy to follow and should be borrowed IMO.
I think Rick Hodgin's suggestion is a good one. From the next release, Trisquel should be called Trisquel 12.04 LTS / Codename. It would help people who are unfamiliar with Trisquel but know its more famous Ubuntu sibling.
I think Rick's suggestion would make alot of sense for power users. For newbies 12.04 would just be slightly more complex than 6.0.
Sticking with Ubuntu's numbering might imply to some people who don't know about Trisquel that it's another Ubuntu clone of sorts. Maybe the trade off is worth it. Maybe not. Trisquel is not just swapping out default programs. It's replacing core pieces that negatively impact users freedom.
