The new version contain additional hardware support and bug fixes over the original 14.04 release: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TrustyTahr/ReleaseNotes/ChangeSummary/14.04.2
Maybe new updates will arrive soon from Trisquel

In Trisquel 6 we got the backports of the kernel and X stack from the newer non-LTS upstream releases. Those had to be manually installed.
