looks desirable but it beats me how it works? It is probably real simple but I can find no description of how to actually use it. Hints and/or explanations are most appreciated.
Thanks, but as far as I can see, that doesn't answer my answer question about how I use it. When I try to watch a video on youtube I get a black screen with this text: "The video should be loading. If it doesn't load, make sure a video plugin is installed. If you think it's a script issue, please report it here."
I can see, that ViewTube is activated, but apparently to no good. Of course NoScript is blocking youtube, but I suppose that is quite the point of it: That videos can be played circumventing javascript and flash, or am I wrong?
You are right. Well, ViewTube actually is JavaScript. But free JavaScript that you can study and modify (from "User scripts" in the "Add-ons" menu). Have you let "Auto" in the player menu? It works here but you may try a specific player...
To clarify, the only browser I have seen user scripts working on without JavaScript enabled overall is Firefox (and its derivatives, e.g. Abrowser) with Greasemonkey. All other browsers I have tried refuse to run user scripts while regular JavaScript is disabled.
