Vlc audio doesn't work.

Sometimes when playing a video file in vlc the audio stops working also when I seek the audio turns off from time to time.
Soundcard: Intel 6 series/c200 series chipset family high definition audio controller(Rev 05)
Restarting the same video in vlc fixes the problem but not always with seeking.
Your soundcard is ok with free software. Some Trisquel users have the same as yours.

It can also be your graphic card.
This thing happened to me yesterday as I was watching a movie.
This can depend of the encoding quality of your video or the format.
Re-encoding the file can solve the problem.

I had the "seek sound missing bug" on Trisquel too. The same is not in Debian. May I recommend you my favorite video player?
