VLC issue

Hello all-

Still running 10.1 here. Last night I used VLC to run a microscope and it worked OK. But this morning my machine was going crazy - disk almost full and multiple warnings that I am out of space. (The drive had been maybe 20% full before running VLC.)

The trouble was a nearly 500G file called VLC-LOG. I deleted the file, killed the VLC process and now things seem back to normal.

Could VLC be infested with a virus? Running VLC 3.0.9.2-1.

Thanks.

I see no reason why a virus would write a huge log. Reading that log with the less command (text editors would not open a huge file like that!) would have been informative. There was probably a single set of lines repeated ad nauseam.

It's probably that the support for the file/stream you are feeding is partial and/or buggy, you might like to update to a recent version (as in T11) as that will probably improve the performance/support.

Cheers.

Many thanks for your comments. I will try upgrading to 11 soon.
