What do you do to keep your browser from consuming too much memory

Hi Everyone
I like abrowser but I often have several GB in memory.
What do you do to reduce the load? It doesn't seem to have the option to
not load images automatically. That helped many years ago.

To turn off images -
about:config
search for "permissions.default.image"
default integer value is 1. Change it according to these preferences:
1 – allows all images to load
2 – blocks all images
3 – allows only images from the same site to load and blocks third-party-images
Thanks Andy. I used to be able to uncheck this in firefox and when i
did, there would be a new button to load images. I think seamonkey still
works this way but it's not in the repo.
Seamonkey is available for download on their site.
--Download, extract to a directory of your choice under ~/ (home)
'./seamonkey' to launch (or add to menu)
If you open a lot of tabs you can use add-ons that suspend unused tabs such as these ones which can significantly reduce memory consumption:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-tab-discard/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dormancy/
You can toggle blocking/loading images using this add-on:
Thanks for responding to my post. These add-ons are not in the repo, I
guess they are closed source
The add-ons are freely licensed. You can see this when you open the Mozilla pages I provided (search for "License").

Don't open it; haha!
High five for the dad joke!
Do that or just use Lynx/Links/Elinks. No graphics, no problem!

I do not allow javashit in my browser. That's exactly the reason why it is always smooth, low mem usage and relatively secure.
o/
war on Javashit it is then ! Thanks
