This is a won't fix issue, as in
a) trisquel don't host git repository for every package. they are pulled from upstream, the changes applied are using this programs called helpers.
b) trisquel doesn't rebuild all packages, rebuilding all packages to remove the upstream git url info is not worth the effort, this is similar to the "universe" tag on upstream packages: https://gitlab.trisquel.org/trisquel/package-helpers/-/issues/51
Please note you can help a lot by digging deep into the issue at hand, reporting things to satisfy someone's curiosity only adds work and speculations on fixed ideas, most of the time searching a bit deeper key points get unveiled.
I only mention this because I have invited you to check the package-helpers repo and check how it works.

Thank you for the information about rebuilding being needed to change the upstream git url info.
I thought only a small amount of text may have been needed to be changed.
I likely should have looked more into the way checked more into how the apt-get worked, than I may have seen it was not as easy as changing a small amount of text.
I do not think I got the instructions email to validate the gitlab account, but it is the same email I used to sign up to this forum.
I'm not an website admin, so I'm not aware of any info you submitted for the forum, OTOH I can help you activate the gitlab account if you point out your account.
