wifi Linksys Wireless G PCI adapter(tower) with Netgear WNDR3700 router works.

This is rather remarkable.

Wireless has always been a "bugaboo" for Linux. However, the Atheros "chipset" is pretty well a supported device.

Soooo I rather expected that Trisquel, being all "free" might not have access to "stuff" to do with wifi hardware.

I was WRONG! lol.

This particular instance is a mix of the items listed in the title.

The wifi card is 802.11g and 802.11b compliant.

Trisquel did not require any special work to get the card working except that of PATIENCE.

a) the distro was on the net wired(eth0).
b) I shut down and inserted the card(PCI) and restarted.
c) A balloon appeared VERY quickly that said that wireless networks had been found, but I could not click it in time to interact with it.
d) the "two little blue monitors" in the lower panel(right) has a submenu for setting up a card but I couldn't remember the numbers, dumb me! :)
d) I hotplugged(reinserted) the ehternet cable and the distro got on the net, but did not offer any updates(which means that all the necessary wifi software "should" be onboard).
e) I removed the eth. cable and a balloon appeared that the cable had been removed.
f) No balloon appeared for the wireless connection, BUT, immediately the usual wifi four bar symbol appeared in the lower right panel and I was connected to the internet.

No interaction was required, merely a little patience. ;)

So..even a mixed wifi card and router system works with Trisquel!
