Since Trisquel does not ship with proprietary firmware, some wireless
chips don't work. The easiest way around this is to buy a USB wireless
adapter. But you have to get one that will work with free software, or
it will also not work.

A lot of users here have had success with adapters from
ThinkPenguin.com, which only sells adapters compatible with free software:

If you are unable to get the adapter from TP for whatever reason, you
could always find an equivalent adapter online. Although there is less
guarantee that it will work, e.g. if you accidentally choose the wrong
model number.

Andrew.

I was looking at a wireless card on that site and at the beginning of the description is says no firmware is needed but at the bottom it says it wants you to download a firmware blob from some uknown website.

That and $54 for a usb wifi adapter is nothing short of a ripoff.

That's because the firmware for the AR9271 was recently released as Free Software and was not included in the latest Trisquel release. It should come with the system by default in the next release.
