sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
And if the problem persists, please say whether you're running the Trisquel desktop, Gnome Shell or whatever and how you installed them so I might recreate this.

I am running GNOME Shell. I have installed 'gnome-control-center 3.8.6' from GNOME PPA, that might have caused this problem.
