Notify-osd strange behavior after installing and using gnome-shell via gnome metapackage

Description

After installing and testing gnome-shell. I came back to the Trisquel's default desktop and I realized that notify-osd doesn't work.

After uninstalling the "notification-daemon" package, the bubble appears rarely when y scroll over the gnome-sound-applet but does not inform about other events. Even more strange is the fact that it seems to work well on new created users.

The problem was the coexistance between metacity's compositor and notify-osd, not gnome shell.
