ownCloud desktop sync client popping up error dialogue on start-up

I'm running Trisquel Belenos on a 32Bit Acer Aspire One. I installed the ownCloud client from the 'Add/Remove Programs' tool. AFAICT it seems to work, but when I boot up and log in to my desktop, a dialogue box pops up saying:

"System tray not available

ownCloud requires on a working system tray. If you are running XFCE, please follow these instructions. Otherwise, please install a system tray application such as 'trayer' and try again."
