After installing I click on the menu entry to be greeted with: 
Upon further investigation, it's a command all right: 
It works just fine if you replace the su-to-root -X -c part with gksudo.
(The su-to-root script is provided by package menu. I'm not sure if it would be a good dependency or not.)
It appears this is due to a missing dependency in "menu" and has been fixed upstream.
