On my main PC, I have a nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce 6600] video card that I use with Trisquel 5.0. When I run 5.0 from livecd, I have the correct boot splash but once installed, I get the "Trisquel 5.0" text instead of the boot splash.

On my laptop, I have a nVidia Corporation NV44 [GeForce 6200] video card that I was using with Trisquel 4.5 and then Trisquel 4.5 mini. On both, I had working boot splash but now that I updated 4.5 mini to 5.0 mini, boot splash doesn't work and shows a black screen instead. I didn't try livecd on this one.

This has happened to me, too. I have an nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 MX 420] video card, and I have no boot splash in Trisquel 5.0.

I have no bootsplash, too. But my Graphicscard is an ATI 9600Pro/128Mb/AGP with an ECS K7S5A Pro Mainboard. I checked also a Geforce 6600 GT on a Biostar Viotech 3100+ with PCIe. During boot the TFT-Screen goes for seconds into Idle-Mode. No bootsplash. When the system is ready loading, the login-screen will be shown. Scrambled bootsplash with Geforce 8400GS/512Mb/PCIe

I usually don't get a boot splash on Trisquel 5.0, but always did on 4.5.1. Sometimes there is a Trisquel logo in a green square against a black screen with text on it when I shut down. I have a mobile Intel integrated graphics card. (i3 390M)

Hi folks,
I looked at the grub.cfg and deleted the entry vt.handoff=7 in the file and saved it. After the reboot, the bootsplash was shown.

This issue probably won't be fixed for Trisquel 5.0 since this version already reached End of Life.

I updated the version to 6.0, but I can't confirm the bug is still present in this version.
