1) Run sudo apt-get install slingshot
2) type "slingshot" into terminal. You'll get a blank window for 2 seconds and then nothing
The problem: A bash script in /usr/games/ named "slingshot" points to non-existant directory "slingshot". This is fixable by using a working package. E.g. http://ftp.br.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/slingshot/slingshot_0.9-1_all.deb
I confirm it does not run.
But I don't think the problem description is accurate. I certainly have a slingshot directory that is pointed to.
The workaround is good too. I would've probably pointed to http://es.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/pool/main/s/slingshot/slingshot_0.9-1_all.deb instead though.
Not sure if this is worth fixing as I understand Brigantia End-of-Lifes in 1 month.
Fixed in toutatis and belenos. The other versions have reached EOL.
