New youtube video sharing alternative - lbry.tv

lbry.tv is a new video sharing protocol/website/service along with a set of desktop apps for different OS's. Everything appears to be libre licensed, but I haven't done anything but scan through some of the FAQ pages and the github site (https://github.com/lbryio), so not sure about the licensing for all aspects of it.

It has what appears to be a fairly large volume of videos uploaded, with a lot of regular type stuff you would find on youtube.

It's a decentralized platform, access is either through the web page or through a downloaded app. I'm trying the .deb file for the app now. It installed ok and I'm playing some music videos.

Streaming seems fast from what I can tell so far. Might be worth keeping an eye on this one.
