Newbie needs help with VPN set up

Hello Everyone,

I have just received my Vikings X200 laptop which comes with Trisquel preinstalled. However, I am completely new to Trisquel (and Linux for that matter) and could use some help with fairly basic things.

For example, I cannot get a VPN set up. When I click on "VPN Connections," the only option, "Add a VPN" is greyed out. I found some advice from 2012 on this board regarding this problem, but when I followed it nothing happened.

I tried following NordVPN's advice about how to get a VPN set up. However, at a key point in their instructions, my computer does not follow along as it should:

:~$ locateovpn_udp
locateovpn_udp: command not found
:~$ locateovpn_tcp
locateovpn_tcp: command not found

Can anyone help?
