wxMaxima doesn't receive some input characters

If you open up wxMaxima and try to type some stuff, ibus devours some of the characters so they never reach wxMaxima. (This problem used to happen in gedit too.)

I have verified that the behaviour is the same in both LXDE and GNOME.
